Upon submission of your manuscript, our project team carefully reviews each manuscript and assigns it to the editor with the most editing experience in your subject matter.
Your English Academic Editor then reviews your writing, makes a professional editing level recommendation, and responds with questions. With your approval, they begin editing.
Once your editor finishes, they return your revised manuscript with detailed comments.
Unlike our competitors, our editors do NOT send the manuscript to an Indian editor for further editing, where errors can arise because of language and comprehension concerns.
Communicate directly with your editor
If you have questions or problems with our service, communicate directly with your editor via email or telephone consultation.
After you revise the manuscript, you can send it back for a final proofread prior to submitting it to your target journal.
How is First Editing different from other editing companies?
Other well-known editing companies use a similar approach but have some critical differences.
First, authors place an order by choosing a service and sending their manuscript along with simple editing instructions to their Asian headquarter (often in India).
They then post your manuscript on a back-end electronic job board. There they offer your manuscript to hundreds of freelance editors. The first editor to accept the job edits the manuscript.
FirstEditing is NOT outsourcing editors from India
The random freelancer returns the finished job back to the company in India, where a non-native English speaker completes the editing.
Finally, your edited version returns. If you are unhappy or have questions, you can contact the other company. However, you will not talk to your original editor.
